The land types are divided into the following secondary categories: paddy field, dry land, closed forest land, shrub land, sparse forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, medium-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glacier and snow land, tidal flat, river beach, urban land, rural residential areas, other construction land, sandy land, Gobi, saline-alkali land, swamp land, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and others. Among them, cultivated land is classified into paddy fields and dry lands in mountainous areas, hilly areas, plains, and slopes with a gradient greater than 25 degrees according to landform.
