Characterization of invasive pneumococcal isolates collected from patients in Canada. Streptococcus pneumoniae

Isolates were obtained from the annual, ongoing "Streptococcus pneumoniae Serotyping and Antimicrobial Susceptibility: Assessment for Vaccine Effectiveness in Canada" (SAVE) study. Isolates were sequenced to study genomic relatedness, distribution of genomic antimicrobial resistance determinants and clonal composition of the Canadian pneumococcal population.
