The purpose of the experiment is to distinguish between heritable vs non-heritable variability of the Lipid A-mediated immune response in macrophages. This involved a comparison between responses of Lipid A stimulated clones (derived from an isogeneic iBMDMs) and responses of matching mixed populations. iBMDMs were generated from adult C57BL6 mice using a retrovirus (from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2834784/).
