Barcoding tropical Pacific pteridophytes

The goal of this project is to generate DNA barcodes of all pteridophytes (ferns and lycophytes) from the tropical Pacific. Although DNA barcoding of pteridophytes has progressed greatly in recent years, the tropical Pacific is still lacking data for many species. This project seeks to fill this gap to enable both local community phylogenetic analyses and broader biogeographical analyses. This NCBI BioProject contains DNA barcode records that were generated with support from the federally-funded Smithsonian Institution DNA Barcode Network.
