This dataset is an extension of GSE151407. It contains 160 vastus lateralis muscle samples from young, healthy men and women who underwent 4, 8 or 12 weeks of HIIT. Some of them also underwent a 4-week control period prior to commencing the HIIT program. Some individuals in GSE151407 also appear in this dataset as they did two HIIT interventions, as indicated in the "description" field in the corresponding sample records (to link the individuals between the two datasets). This dataset contains 160 vastus lateralis muscle samples from young, healthy men and women who underwent 4, 8 or 12 weeks of HIIT. From the 160 samples, 57 were taken at baseline, 57 after four weeks of exercise training, 17 after eight weeks of exercise training, and 15 after twelve weeks of exercise training; 13 samples were taken four weeks before the baseline timepoint to see whether DNA methylation patterns would change without exercise over a four-week time period (57 + 57 + 17 + 15 + 13 = 159 samples). The remaining sample was a replicate. Please note that total 35 sample records (from GSE151407) are also included in the current Series records.
