The miiuy croaker (miichthys miiuy) belongs to family Sciaenidae. It is an economically and ecologically important coastal fish. However, in recent years, due to the high-density feeding, diseases caused by pathogens and parasites have occurred. In addition, a lagging artificial breeding without whole genome information led to the germplasm degeneration. Our reference genome will also provide insights into molecular breeding techniques and disease control strategies of the miiuy croaker.
