Retinal ganglion cell topography in the masked greenling Hexagrammos octogrammus_Supporting Data

Here are original data on cell counting in DAPI stained retinae. There are three blocks of data. Each block contains data on one of three retinal wholemounts presented in Figure 3 and Table 1 of the paper. In case of Retina 1, the number of cells was estimated from a series of images obtained in 106.5 x 106.5 µm frames. The frames were situated at a distance of 106.5 µm from each other to form a regular grid. In case of retinae 2 and 3, the scanning frames were 225 x 225 µm and were situated at a distance of 225 µm from each other to form a regular grid. A set of frames scanned as a single series was called a VLF (very large field). Average intensity projections of the stacks onto the wholemount plane were built. See Materials and Methods for further details. Each folder in a block represents a series of average intensity projections obtained for the respective VLF. The folders are named after VLFs they present. The location of the VLFs in each wholemount is provided in file VLF_location_retina_X.tif in the root of its respective block. The files in each VLF folder are named after the frames they represent. The frames within each VLF are named in “chess” style.
