This dataset is based on typical steppe quadrats in Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, 2017. Sampling points were randomly selected from open terrain, and their geographic locations were recorded using GPS. Three 10 m × 10 m large quadrats were established at each sampling point, and five 1 m × 1 m small quadrats were arranged at each corner and the center of each large quadrat. Vegetation data mainly include community aboveground biomass, community composition and structure, etc.
