SPIN: a per-timestep SIR detector and 1998–2019 event catalogue

Archive accompanying the manuscript "SPIN: per-timestep probability inference of streaminteraction regions and a 1998-2019 event catalogue". Contents:(1) catalogs/ - the delivered SIR catalogue, 921 events (772 for 1998-2016 and 149 for the 2017-2019 extrapolation segment), plus the seven external reference catalogues used in the cross-catalogue comparison.(2) curves/ - per-slot probability curves, 22 years x 5 seeds. The catalogue can be recomputed from these curves bit for bit, with no retraining.(3) code/ - the detector, the training and evaluation harness, the catalogue generation and verification pipeline, and the analysis scripts behind each result section.(4) figures/ - the eight manuscript figures. Raw input data (OMNI, SYM-H, SILSO, ACE/SWICS) are public products and are notredistributed here; download locations are given in README.md. Reproducing the catalogue requires no GPU and no training: combine the five seeds per slotwith a power mean (a = 2, i.e. the RMS), threshold at 0.60, extract connected components,drop segments shorter than 6 h and merge gaps of 3 h or less. Code is under the MIT licence; data and figures under CC BY 4.0.
