The proper development of placenta is crucial for the fetal healthy because it is responsible to transport nutrients and oxygen from pregnant female to the developing fetus. However, the process of placenta morphogenesis and fold formation remains to be fully elucidated. In this study, we used genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) and RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) method to depict a global map of DNA methylation and gene expression change in the placentas on days 21, 28, and 35 post-coitus from Tibetan fetuses.
