Dataset for: Associations Between Sleep Irregularity Behaviors and Athlete Engagement Among Chinese Athletes: The Serial Mediating Roles of Fatigue and Emotion Dysregulation

This dataset contains the de-identified raw questionnaire data underlying the manuscript entitled “Associations Between Sleep Irregularity Behaviors and Athlete Engagement Among Chinese Athletes: The Serial Mediating Roles of Fatigue and Emotion Dysregulation.” The study used a cross-sectional questionnaire design and included adult athletes from provincial- and municipal-level teams in China. Data were collected between 2025-09-15 and 2025-11-01 in six sports: table tennis, badminton, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and football. After data screening based on predefined quality criteria, 317 valid cases were retained for analysis. The dataset includes measures of sleep irregularity behaviors, fatigue, difficulties in emotion regulation, athlete engagement, and demographic characteristics. All data are anonymized. These data support the analyses reported in the associated manuscript, including descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, measurement model evaluation, and PLS-SEM with serial mediation testing.
