Transcript abundance was measured relative to Gapdh (Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase) as a calibrator. Transcripts included peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (Ppar-α), glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase 1 (Gpam), long-chain fatty acyl-CoA ligase 1 (Acsl1), acyl-CoA oxidase (Acox), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (Pgc1-α), phosphoenoylpyruvate carboxykinase (Pepck) and glucose-6-phosphatase (G6pc). Transcripts were measured in triplicate and combined results are shown ± s.d. (number of mice). Significance calculated using Students t-test.*p**p***p
