Small RNA sequencing to study herbaceous plant virus population in Xishuangbanna

To explore the virus population in Xishuangbanna tropic forest area in China where is rich diversity , herbaceous plants were collected and used for small RNA analyses by high throughput sequencing. Fifteen sites plant species in Xishuangbanna were used for analyses and 2489 virus sequences were detected and annotated. The study reveals that Begomoviruses in the Geminiviridae are prevalent in the population of tested plants and are widely distributed in Xishuangbanna.
