7 Human bacteria samples were inoculated into germ free mice and allowed to establish. Mice were then challenged with Clostridium difficile and colonization and samples for faecal microbiota composition investigation collected (0, 1, 3, 7, 14, 21, 28). Differences were observed in colonization resistance to C. difficile. As expected germ free mice were colonized within 1 ââ¬â 2 days and SPF remained resistant to colonization throughout the experiment.
