Investigation of metal tolerance in Salmonella enterica serovar I 4,[5],12:i:- strain USDA15WA-1 due to the mobile genetic element Salmonella genomic island 4 (SGI-4) encoding tolerance to copper, silver, and arsenic. Serovar I 4,[5],12:i:- strain USDA15WA-1 is associated with a 2015 U.S. pork outbreak. Transcriptional analysis of strain USDA15WA-1 using RNA-seq was performed following exposure to copper. DNA sequence and assembly of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium transconjugate strains was performed following transfer of Salmonella genomic island 4 by bacterial conjugation from donor strain USDA15WA-1.
