We report the gene expression profiles of Arabidopsis seedlings treated with or without ethanol under drought conditions. Overall design: Arabidopsis thaliana (Col-0 ecotype) were grown on MS medium at 22°C under 16-h-light/8-h-dark for 10 days. Seedlings were then transferred to ceramics granular soil (SAKATA SEED CORPORATION, Japan) and grown for 5 days. Ethanol pretreatment was performed by immersing the pots in trays containing 10 mM Ethanol for 3 days. Drought treatment was then started by removing excess water from the trays and stopping subsequent watering. Shoots were harvested at 0, 1, 3, 5, and 7 days after the onset of drought treatment.
