FOREIGN EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPING GREEN TOURISM AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS APPLICATION IN UZBEKISTAN

Green tourism has become an important component of sustainable economic development, contributing to environmental protection, regional development, and employment growth. This article examines foreign experience in the development of green tourism, focusing on the practices of economically developed and tourism-oriented countries. The study analyzes modern approaches to eco-tourism management, state support mechanisms, digital solutions, and environmentally friendly business models applied in international practice. Based on a comparative and analytical methodology, the paper evaluates the possibilities of adapting these experiences to the conditions of Uzbekistan. Particular attention is paid to the role of green tourism in the development of rural areas, the efficient use of natural resources, and the promotion of environmentally responsible tourist behavior. The results show that the implementation of international best practices can enhance the competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, stimulate green investments, and support the transition to a sustainable economy. The article concludes with practical recommendations for improving institutional mechanisms, infrastructure, and innovative tools for the development of green tourism in Uzbekistan.
