资源简介:
The mosquito Aedes aegypti is the primary vector for various infectious diseases such as yellow fever, chikungunya, zika and dengue fever. Although, disease transmission heavily relies on the ability of female mosquitoes to successfully locate and blood feed on human hosts, males mosquitoes can also be found in close proximity to humans. In both cases, host seeking is dependent on adult sexual maturation. In this project, we investigate the modulation of the host seeking behaviour and the transcript abundance of the main chemosensory-related gene families between sexes and across ages in newly-emerged mosquitoes. Future functional characterisation of differentially abundant genes may help to develop novel control strategies against vector borne diseases.
