This folder contains monthly datasets of periods considered in the paper "Fiber Sensing with Internet Cables: A tool for long-term marine environmental monitoring" by I. Shulten et al. and a basic Python script to process them. This study has been conducted using: - Wind speed and direction, precipitation, and temperature data in Catania and Pachino available from the Sicily Service for Agricultural Meteorology (http://www.sias.regione.sicilia.it/frameset_download.htm). - Tide gauge data from eastern Sicily available through the European Commission Joint Research Centre - ISPRA - Space, Security and Migration Directorate Space, (https://webcritech.jrc.ec.europa.eu/TAD_server/Home). - Earthquake data from Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV).
