The purpose of the test was to develop a procedure to obtain frozen core samples from liquefied Ottawa F60 sand. The Ottawa F60 sand model was shaken with an earthquake motion modeled after the 1960 Chile Earthquake. About 1/2" of settlement occurred in the 6" high model. Frozen cores of the liquefied soil were acquired.
