资源简介:
Pacific ocean perch (Sebastes alutus) are distributed along the Alaskan continental shelf in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea. Study of collections of adults (Palof 2008) show that there is strong geographically-based population structure. This study of single cohort, young-of-the-year collections sampled along the shelf in the northeastern Gulf of Alaska shows the same results. Consequently, it is clear that Pacific ocean perch have limited lifetime dispersal and that production units have a scale of much less than 400 km. The data in this document includes the sampling sites and dates of 45 young-of-the-year Pacific ocean perch collections and their microsatellite allelic compositions. These datasets were archived as part of the North Pacific Research Board legacy project recovery effort undertaken by Axiom Data Science and NPRB in 2025. The goal of the recovery effort was to assess the NPRB-funded data projects from 2002 to 2014 and archive final data packages that were ready for publication to increase long-term accessibility and discoverability. Data packages were archived as is given limited funding and resources.
