资源简介:
This data package contains data collected from three spherical wave buoys (30 cm in diameter), deployed during Lagrangian submesoscale experiment (LASER) in the Gulf of Mexico, on Jan 29th, 30th, and Feb 6th 2016. The wave buoys were custom made using acrylic hardened plastic and contained Global Positioning System (GPS) unit (GT-31 handheld type) and an Inertial Measuring Unit (Yost, 3 space YEI-TSS hand-held type sensor) which consisted of an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer. They were free floating and had a heavy chain attached at the bottom to keep them upright. Data from the GPS was recorded at 1 Hz and inertial motion unit (IMU) was at 10 Hz. GPS and IMU data were synced by matching the raw data streams. The data package also includes the Matlab code used to convert Raw GPS and IMU data into wave spectra and the .mat files that contains the output from the code. This dataset supports the publication: Carlson, D. F., Özgökmen, T., Novelli, G., Guigand, C., Chang, H., Fox-Kemper, B., … Horstmann, J. (2018).
