Private Port Facilities Bordering Kentucky

This feature service displays the locations of private port facilities along navigable waterways that border the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The dataset was developed from a national listing of port facilities provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Facilities were filtered to include only those within states that share a waterway boundary with Kentucky. Each facility was reviewed using aerial imagery to determine the presence of freight activity. Only those with visible freight operations were included in the final dataset. This information helps support transportation planning, infrastructure development, and economic analysis related to waterborne freight movement.
