The comprehensive gridded emission inventory of semi-volatile and intermediate volatility organic compounds (S/IVOCs) over China with a resolution of 27 km × 27 km in 2016 was developed based on ample source-specific measured data on emission ratios of S/IVOCs to primary organic aerosols (POA). The emission inventory covers six main source categories including industry, residential, transportation, power plants, biomass burning, and shipping. The uncertainty of this emission inventory was estimated to be within the range of -66 %–153 % by using Monte Carlo simulation. This emission inventory can be used as input data for numerical models to further investigate the roles of S/IVOCs on air quality such as concentrations of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) and fine particle (PM2.5), thereby helping policy-makers to formulate effective air quality control strategies. The dataset contains one zip files with 72 nc files inside, and each nc file contains SVOC and IVOC emissions of one month for a specific source category. This dataset and relevant detailed analysis have been submitted to 𝐸𝑎𝑟𝑡ℎ 𝑆𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑚 𝑆𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐷𝑎𝑡𝑎.
