Time-resolved cryo-EM on the CarH photoreceptor

The purpose of this experiment is to collect six datasets on cryo-EM grids prepared in a time-resolved way: with a precisely controlled time delay between the initiation of a reaction (in this case the dissociation of a photosensitive protein, triggered with a light source) and vitrification. Our objective is to obtain high resolution maps of reaction intermediates in the light-induced dissociation of the photoreceptor CarH, and compare them with results obtained with crystallography techniques, in order to better understand its photo-reaction mechanism and eventually modify the protein for optogenetics purposes.
