Hongyuyin protects against ulcerative colitis-associated intestinal fibrosis:A mechanistic study combining transcriptomics and network pharmacology analyses

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a persistent idiopathic inflammatory disease affecting the gastrointestinal tract. Hongyuyin (HYY) is a Chinese botanical drug,the underlying biological mechanism of action against UC-associated intestinal fibrosis (IF) remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the mechanisms of HYYs action on IF by conducting in-vivo studies using the DSS-induced mice colitis model. GO term and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses, conducted in the transcriptomics and NP frameworks, showed that HYY treatment mediated biological processes and multi-target signal pathways. The PI3K-Akt signaling pathway was identified as the main pathway for the mechanism of action of HYY against UC-associated IF.
