Species-level dynamics of the human gastric microbiome before and after Helicobacter pylori eradication

This project investigates species-level changes in the human gastric microbiome associated with Helicobacter pylori infection and eradication therapy in adults from Bayan-Olgii, Mongolia, a region with a high incidence of gastric cancer. Gastric biopsy samples were collected from H. pylori positive, H. pylori negative, and post eradication individuals, including paired longitudinal samples obtained six months after successful eradication. Full length 16S rRNA V1 V9 amplicon sequencing was performed using the Oxford Nanopore platform to enable species level taxonomic resolution of gastric microbial communities.
