资源简介:
This study investigates the intricate interplay between perceived stress, mindfulness, and health-related exercise beliefs among university students, highlighting mindfulness as a crucial protective factor. Amidst the demanding environment of university life, understanding how students maintain healthy lifestyle choices, particularly exercise, is paramount. The research specifically explores the extent to which mindfulness acts as a buffer, safeguarding positive exercise beliefs against the detrimental effects of stress. Utilizing a robust cross-sectional design with a large sample of Turkish university students, the study employs structural equation modeling to delineate the direct and indirect pathways between these variables. The findings underscore the significant negative impact of perceived stress on exercise-related health beliefs and mindfulness, mediated by self-efficacy and helplessness. Conversely, mindfulness emerges as a strong positive predictor of exercise-related health beliefs. Crucially, the study reveals that mindfulness substantially mediates the relationship between perceived stress and exercise-related health beliefs, particularly within the dimensions of self-efficacy and helplessness. These insights strongly advocate for the integration of mindfulness-based interventions into student health programs, offering a promising avenue for fostering adaptive coping mechanisms and promoting sustained healthy behaviors in the face of academic and personal stressors.
