This medication concept set includes the following ingredients: Chlorothiazide, Chlorthalidone, Hydrochlorothiazide, Indapamide, and Metolazone. It also includes combinations of these ingredients with other antihypertensive medications. This code list was generated by taking the descendants of all the thiazide diuretic ingredients of interest, and also doing string matching on the concept_name of the ingredient. This broad concept set was intended to identify patients who received thiazide diuretics. Limited to NDC, RxNorm and RxNorm Extension codes. In this version of the codeset, IV and injectable drugs were excluded.
