We extracted published estimates of mutational variance from the literature (README_Metaanalysis_FULLDATA.txt; SupportingInformation_Meta-analysis_Vm_estimates.csv). <br><br>We performed a formal meta-analysis on a subset of these meeting study criteria (README_Meta-analysis_Vm_estimates.txt; Meta-analysis_Vm_estimates.csv). <br><br>To further investigate causes of variability in estimates of muational variance, we conducted a manipulative experiment, and analysed wing traits (shape and size) in Drosophila serrata (README_MA_dserrata_wings.txt; MA_dserrata_wings.csv).
