Fostering Employee Pro-Environmental Behavior through Green Training in Indonesian Special Mission Vehicle
收藏资源简介:
In recent years, organizations worldwide have faced growing stakeholder pressure to adopt sustainable practices amid increasing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) concerns driven by environmental degradation. Organizations are compelled to embed sustainability into their core strategies, requiring adjustments not only in business models but also in organizational behavior and culture. Human resource practices serve as a key enabler, with green training (GT), one of the dimensions of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM), the integration of environmental sustainability principles into HR policies, emerging as instrumental for enhancing employees' environmental knowledge, awareness, and competencies. However, while previous studies have widely examined the effect of GHRM on employee pro-environmental behavior (EPEB), the role of specific GHRM practices, particularly GT, and their psychological mechanisms remain underexplored. This study examines the effect of GT on EPEB, with green self-efficacy (GSE) as a mediating variable, among employees of Indonesian Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) organizations under the Ministry of Finance. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 to test the hypothesized relationships. The results show that GT has a positive and significant effect on EPEB and GSE (β = 0.265, T = 2.788, P = 0.005). GSE also has a positive and significant effect on EPEB (β = 0.272, T = 3.267, P =0.001). However, GSE does not significantly mediate the relationship between GT and EPEB. This study suggests that green training is a relevant organizational practice for supporting employee pro-environmental behavior in Indonesian SMV organizations.
