The equipment register was used to record the acquisition by the school, the value, and the location on school premises, of items of office or classroom equipment such as projectors, public address systems, duplicators and other movable items or replaceable installations. The volumes were printed in a standard format, with the name of the school to be entered at the top of each page, and successive columns below recording the date of acquisition, the name of the item, its value, the amount of departmental subsidy towards its acquisition, the maker's serial number, the object's location in the school, and the details (if any) of its eventual disposal. A final column was provided for remarks.The series from Gangat Public School consists of a single volume. Although this volume records acquisitions from as early as 1943, it appears to have been originally written up in 1964 or 1965. A final entry was added in 1967, the year of the school’s closure.
