资源简介:
Central nervous system infections are life-threatening diseases and need prompt targeted antimicrobial therapy. Anaerobic bacteria are the rare causes for central nervous system infections. Prevotella oris is an anaerobic, Gram-negative, nonpigmented bacterium and frequently detected in periodontal diseases. To date, Prevotella oris caused meningitis and spinal canal infection has not been reported. We reported a case who suffered from meningitis and spinal canal infection. With the mNGS method, the pathogen was identified as prevotella oris in time. Effective targeted antibiotics were given, and the patient relieved quickly. For patients who has central nervous system infections, mNGS is an efficient technique in detecting pathogenic microorganism, especially for those infections caused by rare bacteria.
