The accession contains copy of bathythermograph XBT data. This contains one month data for June 1990 that was sent as radio messages from ships to Ocean Products Center (OPC) via telecommunications. Data containing 2,462 observations was collected as part of Integrated Global Ocean Service System (IGOSS) and was received from NOAA, OPC, Camp Springs, Maryland. The data was submitted by Mr. William Newell to NODC. The data on magnetic disk has been copied to current NODC data storage format.
