The following materials were studied:
Bulk boron – precursor material
Borophene – obtained via chemical exfoliation
B&Ni(NO₃)₂ – borophene functionalized with nickel nitrate
B&Ni²⁺ – final material after rapid dehydration/reduction (target electrocatalyst)
RuO₂ – reference catalyst used for comparison in electrochemical measurements
Electrochemical Characterization:
All electrochemical measurements were performed using a BioLogic VMP-3 potentiostat in a three-electrode system:
Working electrode: graphite foil coated with catalyst
Reference electrode: Hg|HgO (1 M KOH)
Counter electrode: platinum rod
Electrolyte: 1 M KOH
