FLAD offers permanent identifiers for sequenced forensic alleles (STR or SNP) and their microvariants for use in forensic allele nomenclature. It has an easy application interface (API) to submit reference alleles or retrieve identifiers. FLAD's main service is to offer translation of allele identifiers into reference allele sequences and vice versa. The database thus links locus names and locus identifiers, and links allele sequences and allele identifiers.
