Hong Kong Chironomidae diverisity.

A comprehensive dataset from the first investigation of Chironomidae diversity in Hong Kong. We conducted a year-long survey of Chironomidae diversity across five streams in Hong Kong, using Malaise traps to collect adults and D-nets to sample aquatic immatures. Species richness was assessed through integrative taxonomy, combining morphological analysis with DNA barcoding. This dataset includes DNA barcode sequences and associated metadata (e.g., geographic location, taxonomic identification, specimen type, and habitat), as well as environmental and climatic data for ecological analyses.
