Due to the small sample of normally disjoining meiotic events (n = 152) and the maternal age distribution among those samples, there were a limited number of data points in the oldest two age groups (Table S1). Although formal statistical tests did not detect any association between maternal age and recombination, the power to detect such an association was low. For these reasons, we collapsed age groups and compared the entire sample to those of the nondisjoining meiotic events.
