The study of organic N sources (e.g. amino acids) has gained renewed attention and interest in plant uptake preferences and soil broader ecological drivers. We carried out an experiment to compare how organic and inorganic N forms impact the overall structure and composition of soil- and root-associated bacterial and fungal communities in the rhizosphere of two Pinus radiata genotypes (clones) that differ in the physiological response to N source.
