资源简介:
Overview This feature service provides detailed street centerline data for Leon County, including the City of Tallahassee, Florida. It contains a comprehensive layer that represents street segments with attributes essential for mapping, routing, and transportation analysis. This feature layer contains Tallahassee and Leon County's street centerlines (LCSTSEG). Its is route-able and includes street names, address ranges, one-way, directionality, highway shield indicators, speed limits, elevations, and much more. This layer is actively updated by staff and refreshed as a web layer every weekday. TLCGIS uses georeferenced site plans and as-built drawings to digitize street locations in between aerial photography missions. This means streets will appear in this layer while they are still under construction. A street centerline layer is one of the most important layers for a local government GIS. It is critical for address searches, routing, dispatch agencies, public safety, traffic control, and infrastructure management. A street centerline layer was one TLCGIS' first authoritative layers. The earliest version was created in the early 1990s and has been maintained and enhanced over the years up to this layer. This street centerline is also available in several vector tile overlays: Street and Label Vector Tile Overlay Street Vector Tile Overlay for Imagery Feature Layer Street Centerline : This layer is composed of line features representing road segments across Tallahassee and Leon County. The data includes street names, prefixes, suffixes, and full street names, providing detailed nomenclature for navigation and addressing. It also captures address ranges on both sides of the street segments, helping support emergency response, mail delivery, and property location. The layer includes information on street classification and functional class, indicating road hierarchy and usage. Attributes such as one-way directionality, speed limits, and surface type (paved, unpaved, mixed, or unknown) add important contexts for transportation planning and operational purposes. Additionally, the dataset holds fields reflecting the status of streets (open or closed), build status (built or proposed), and notes on construction phases, making it a dynamic and actively maintained resource. Elevation indicators and highway shield codes further enrich the dataset to assist with infrastructure and traffic management. Geographic Coverage The data covers the geographic extent of Leon County, Florida, including urban and rural areas, serving as a foundational data layer for local government GIS systems. Data Source and Quality Information is compiled from the most accurate sources available within Leon County, the City of Tallahassee, and the Leon County Property Appraiser's Office. This dataset is actively updated with input from georeferenced site plans and as-built drawings, ensuring currency even for streets under construction. Applications Address location and verification services Routing and dispatch for emergency and public safety services Transportation and traffic management planning Infrastructure maintenance and development tracking Integration with GIS mapping and navigation tools for local government and public use
