Canadian Gallup Poll, August 1988, #808_2

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly social and political issues. The questions ask opinions on what the federal government should do about unemployment, equalization payments and what Canada's biggest problem is. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as the effect of a potential NDP government or Free Trade on voting choice. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: Canada's biggest problem; regional poverty in Canada; strategies for dealing with unemployment; voting for Mulroney to pass Free Trade; and voting for the NDP. Basic demographic variables are also included.
