Targeted neural stimulation congruent with immersive reality decreases neuropathic pain

The dataset comprises recordings from 18 patients with chronic neuropathic pain who underwent two different interventions: Virtual Reality (VR) alone and VR combined with targeted somatotopic neurostimulation (VR+tSTIM). For each participant, EEG features across standard frequency bands were collected alongside pain intensity ratings measured with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) at baseline, during the four consecutive days of intervention, the following day, and one week later. These data were the basis for the study “Targeted neural stimulation congruent with immersive reality decreases neuropathic pain”, which demonstrated that the integration of immersive VR with targeted neurostimulation induces clinically meaningful and lasting pain relief, supported by objective EEG biomarkers of nociceptive modulation.
