Microarray analysis of whole brain RNA collected 48 hr after LPS (4mg/kg i.p.) injection We induced systemic inflammation by injecting mice with LPS. We then performed global gene expression profiling of whole brain RNA and looked for genes that may be involved in behavioural changes. Overall design: Male C57BL6 mice were injected (i.p.) with 4mg/kg LPS (Escherichia coli serotype 055:B5) or PBS (n=3/group). Mice were euthanised 48 hours after injection and GeneChip Mouse Gene 1.0 ST Arrays (Affymetrix) were used for transcriptional analysis of whole brain RNA.
