Zonal Reorganization of the South Pacific Subtropical High and Its Cascading Hydroclimatic, Ecological, and Rural Impacts in Central Chile

This repository contains the datasets and processing scripts used in the analysis of socio-ecological drought dynamics in Central-Southern Chile. The study integrates atmospheric circulation (South Pacific Subtropical High, SAM), climate variables (precipitation, SPEI), ecosystem response (NDVI), and socio-environmental implications.Data sources include ERA5 reanalysis, satellite-derived vegetation indices (MODIS NDVI), and drought indices (SPEI). The scripts were developed in Python and Google Colab, including data preprocessing, correlation analysis, lag analysis, and visualization.This dataset supports reproducibility of the results presented in the associated manuscript and contributes to understanding the links between atmospheric variability, climate, ecosystems, and societal impacts in drought-prone regions.
