Domestic railway freight-distance in Japan FY 2014-2023

In the fiscal year 2023, the payload-distance of freight transported domestically via railways in Japan amounted to around 17.8 billion ton-kilometers, decreasing compared to the previous fiscal year. Containers accounted for about 16.3 billion ton-kilometers of the payload distance.
