Alveolar basal cells differentiate towards secretory epithelial and aberrant basaloid cells in vitro

We performed a single-cell transcriptome analysis of alveolar basal cells from peripheral lung tissue of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), cultured in DMEM or Cnt-PR-A growth medium. Single-cell suspensions were generated from cells from cultured peripheral lung tissue biopsies from 3 IPF patients grown for 5 days in DMEM groth medium. An additional cell suspension from one of the IPF patients originates from cells transferred from DMEM to Cnt-PR-A growth medium for 5 additional days. The 4 cell suspensions were loaded on separate wells of a 10X Genomics Chromium Single Cell Controller on 2 different batches. **RAW data not provided due to lack of patient consent**
