Altered gut microbiota in temporal lobe epilepsy with anxiety disorders

In this study, the composition of the gut microbiota including bacteria and fungi has been assessed and thereby identified potent microecological biomarkers of the disease. Despite the small cohort size, this is the first study comparing the gut bacterial as well as fungal flora of individuals with TLEA and patients with temporal lobe epilepsy but without anxiety disorder (TLEW) at the particular time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
