Audience market share of radio stations in the Netherlands 2021, by location

This statistic shows the bimonthly audience market share of radio stations in the Netherlands in November and December 2020, by location. Commercial radio station Radio 538 was the most popular radio station to listen to in the car or when travelling, whereas fellow commercial station Qmusic was often listen to at work or school. Listening behavior changed drastically when people were at home, with public radio station NPO Radio 2 and regional stations from ORN Radio gaining in popularity. This might have to do with an increasing age of listeners, as Radio 538 and Qmusic have a reputation of having a younger audience - and with a more current top 40 focus - whereas NPO Radio 2 focuses more on music from the 70s onwards.
