Organizational Changes in the Central Administration: Popular Governance and Administrative Control, 1986

The purpose of the project was to contribute to the understanding of the basis of the changes in the organization structure in the Norwegian Central Administration. The project was a continuation and an expansion of the project “Organization Changes in the Central Administration”, where six processes of changes in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Education and Church Affairs in the period 1961-1981 was examined. The projects contains data from 222 processings in the parliament of suggestions on organizational changes in the Central Administration. Organizational changes are defined as establishment, dismantling, merger and division of ministries, ministry section and directorate. The project contains information of occurrences in the period 1946-1986.
