Perception of salt stress is critical for plant survival, growth and propagation. However, the molecular basis underlying salt stress detection and signaling transmission are only partially understood. Many EAR motif containing proteins including transcription factors (TFs) or TF interactors function as active repressors. Here, from 374 rice EAR motif containing TFs, AP2/ERF-type OsIDS1 was identified to negatively regulate salt tolerance of rice. This study promote our understanding of rice stress tolerance and molecular design breeding.
